This classic banana pudding is a delightful dessert that combines layers of creamy pudding, fresh bananas, and vanilla wafers. It's a comforting treat that is both satisfying and easy to prepare.

The recipe uses wholesome ingredients to create a healthier version of the traditional dessert, making it perfect for family gatherings or a sweet ending to any meal.

Layers of Delight

Classic banana pudding is a dessert that brings comfort and nostalgia with every bite. The combination of creamy vanilla pudding, fresh banana slices, and crunchy vanilla wafers creates a delightful texture that is hard to resist. Each layer adds its own unique flavor, making this dessert a favorite among many.

Ingredients That Shine

The beauty of this banana pudding lies in its simple yet wholesome ingredients. Using fresh bananas ensures that each serving bursts with natural sweetness, while the vanilla wafers provide a satisfying crunch. The pudding itself is crafted from milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks, creating a rich and creamy base that perfectly complements the other elements.

Preparation Made Simple

Preparing this dessert is straightforward and requires minimal effort. Start by whisking the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan, cooking until thickened. Once the mixture reaches the desired consistency, incorporate the beaten egg yolks and vanilla extract for added flavor.

Layering for Perfection

Layering is where the magic happens. Begin with a foundation of vanilla wafers, followed by a generous layer of sliced bananas, and then the creamy pudding. Repeat these layers until the dish is filled, creating a beautiful presentation that showcases the ingredients.

Chilling for Flavor

After assembling the layers, it's important to let the pudding chill. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld together, resulting in a dessert that is not only delicious but also visually appealing.

Serving Suggestions

When it's time to serve, consider adding a dollop of whipped cream on top for an extra touch of indulgence. A slice of banana as a garnish adds a pop of color and enhances the overall presentation. This banana pudding is perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or simply as a sweet treat to enjoy at home.
